Purgatory Wine Cellars

Purgatory Cellars Winery was founded in 2014 by winemakers from Croatia with an absolute passion for making high quality wines, and a sincere love of Colorado and Colorado grapes. Their dream is to share the joy and happiness of fine wine in a European setting with their community and members. Our wines were awarded 3 new medals at the prestigious Finger Lakes International Wine & Spirits Competition 2024. which amounts to 30 medals altogether for all types of wine. Using Georgian Amphora (Qvevri) clay pot containers to store and ferment wines is a tradition in winemaking dating back to 6th century, B.C.. Today, this ancient technology is making a comeback among brewers and vintners throughout the world, mostly in Europe and the Middle East because of the incredible flavors this process can produce.

Around 90% of the grapes used at the winery come from hand selected Colorado growers. Our award winning wines are hand crafted - beginning with crushing and pressing the grapes, through fermentation, aging, and bottling at the Parker, CO. Please join us at the winery or at any of our tasting rooms!
